ABOUT US

GlobeMed at the University of Chicago is one of 55 chapters of the nationwide GlobeMed organization that partners college students with grassroots NGOs to combat global health inequities and educate a new generation of leaders in social change.

Our chapter partners globally with Development Initiative Network (DIN) Malawi which seeks to meet the diverse needs of vulnerable communities in Southern Malawi, and locally with Hope Works Community Development in Chicago, which seeks to find long term solutions to the needs of community members in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Through partnership, education, and innovation, we endeavor to change inequitable structures that perpetuate barriers to access and make health equity a global reality.

We envision a world in which health – the ability to not only survive but thrive – is possible for all people.
